Though we don't yet have many details, Blizzard says these have never before been seen in the game. Perhaps most exciting for a game that hasn't seen new content since about 2010 is a promise of new Diablo 2 runewords. These include the standard and hardcore ladders for Diablo 2 Classic (non-expansion), as well as their expansion counterparts. Familiar to Diablo 2 veterans, all four of the usual ranked ladder modes are coming to Resurrected. It's essentially seasonal play with every player starting off again with no gear, no characters, and no levels it's a race to fill your stash with awesome loot and hit the top of the ranked leaderboards. While players have been enjoying the riches of Sanctuary in non-ladder play so far, the ladder experience is entirely different. In PC lobbies, the player will now be able to see the connection quality to the host when they hover over the game.Patch 2.4 is set to add in ranked ladder play, a staple of the classic Diablo 2 experience. There are filtering options available in the game list, games can be filtered by difficulty, ping and lobby name. The player may now create a private lobby, a public lobby that will populate the game list or join an existing public/private game. The party finder system has been reworked into the game creator. This will be done by allowing the player to join “any number of game sites in your region that you have a strong enough connection to.” Furthermore, the game list is being expanded from 20 to 40 entries and will refresh in real-time provided the player manually selects the refresh button. The issue of a lack of games appearing in player lists is being addressed by the expansion of the number of viable games the player can join. The new patch focuses primarily on improving the game-finding process for both console and PC players.
